Geophysical Techniques

Geophysical Techniques

We have used geophysical techniques on a couple of jobs to date. One was to confirm the rockhead profile beneath a river where a directional drill pipe crossing was being constructed. The second was to do a mining hazards reconnaissance survey for a highways site, where geophysical anomalies would be followed up with intrusive investigations.
Geophysical techniques can get a bad name for providing equivocal results, but these two examples show how it can be used to good effect, either as a reconnaissance tool or for examining a well defined subsurface target.
